Common questions

Where is my data stored? All kitchens, condiment items, photos, restock history, and inventory counts stay on your device. There is no server account, so deleting the app deletes your data.

What is the Condiment Database? It's the shared view of every condiment across all of your locations. The same product stocked in more than one place is flagged so you can pool stock instead of over-ordering. Open it from the main screen.

How does Smart Restock work? The app learns each item's usage rate from your restock history (a Bayesian estimate that starts from a sensible default and sharpens with every restock you log) and compares it with your stock on hand and expiration dates. It then suggests whether to reorder now, use up expiring stock first, or hold off because you're overstocked.

What about expired items? Expired stock is flagged in the item's Smart Restock section with a one-tap "Discard expired stock & reorder" action — it clears the shelf count and resets the item so the reorder link is ready.

How do refrigerated condiments work? Each item is marked either "Refrigerate after opening" or "Pantry / shelf-stable" (sensible defaults per category, editable per item), and every kitchen lists the two groups separately so cold-storage stock never mixes with the pantry shelf.

What are dietary tags? Tag items gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, nut-free, sugar-free, low-sodium, organic, kosher, halal, or spicy from a drop-down. Tags show on the item and are added to its Amazon search keywords — a gluten-free soy sauce searches for gluten-free tamari, not the wheat-brewed kind. Always confirm dietary claims on the actual product label.

Where is my restock history? Open a kitchen and tap Restock History. Every item you mark restocked is recorded there — product, dates, quantity, and your notes. Tip: rate the product's cost and quality in the item's notes; they're saved with the record.

How do I sign out? Open Settings inside the app and choose Sign Out. Your kitchen data remains on the device.

How do reorder links work? Each item carries an Amazon search link built from its category, brand, and size keywords. As an Amazon Associate, 4DAT LLC earns from qualifying purchases. Always check sizes, ingredient labels, and dates before ordering.

How do I manage my Restaurant subscription? Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. Open iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions to change or cancel.
